Mulled cider descends from wassail, the medieval English orchard toast for a good harvest. Warm apple, spice and a slug of rum make it autumn's answer to Glühwein. Smells like a bonfire night, drinks like a hug.

Afwerken met Apple slice and a star anise.
Ingredienten
- Dry Apple Cider 150 ml
- Dark Rum 30 ml
- Maple Syrup 10 ml
- Cinnamon stick 1 piece
- Cloves 2 piece
- Orange Zest 1 piece
Bereiding

Combine cider, maple syrup, spices and zest in a saucepan.

Heat gently without boiling for 10 minutes.

Remove from the heat and stir in the rum.

Strain into a mug and garnish with an apple slice and star anise.
