The Boulevardier was the signature drink of Erskine Gwynne, an American writer who ran a magazine of the same name in 1920s Paris. Think of it as a Negroni in a tweed coat: whiskey brings warmth and depth to the bittersweet Italian frame. Best in autumn and winter, when aperitivo hour needs more backbone.
