Born in Gaspare Campari's Milan bar in the 1860s, the Americano is the original Italian aperitivo and the direct ancestor of the Negroni. Bittersweet, light and endlessly sippable, it is made for a sunny terrace before dinner. It is also the first drink James Bond ever orders in Casino Royale.
